| Summary | 0000018: QCEF.exe remains running after shutdown | ||||
| Description | For reasons yet unknown the program named QCEF.exe will remain running after StreamFab has been shutdown. This remaining process will then eat up between 10% to 20% of the computer's CPU power. This will continue until the computer is either shutdown/rebooted or the process is killed using Task Manager or some other process monitor program. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | As of yet I have not found a way to reproduce this. It appears to happen at random occasions. | ||||
| Additional Information | Looking at the log files following the shutdown of StreamFab that has resulted in QCEF.exe to remain active, all looks normal. There is an entry showing that QCEF has been closed but that is obviously not true. There have been some reports that this problem will occur after the crash of StreamFab or any other unnatural shutdown. This would be a more obvious reason for it to happen. Copies of the log files might give a clue to the cause if someone would provide them. All in all, it appears to happen that a normal shutdown is just as likely to cause the problem (or more so) than an improper shutdown. | ||||
